Barbara Taff

Barbara Taff is a New York-based multi-disciplinary conceptual artist and designer working across sculpture, photography, and visual design. Her signature body of work uses lenticular prints — images that shift and reveal hidden content as the viewer moves — to find overlooked "artforms in everything": a cracked sidewalk becomes a green evening dress, a metal grate becomes a kiss, drying rainwater on a boulder becomes a portrait of Einstein. Her practice is rooted in "Look. Look again" — training attention on the ordinary, overlooked textures of urban and natural surroundings.

She holds an undergraduate art degree from SUNY Buffalo State and a master's degree in Art & Design (art education) from Pratt Institute. Her professional design career includes Illustration Editor at New York Magazine, Art Director of YM magazine, Associate Creative Director at UJA-Federation of New York, Principal/Creative Director of Studio 8 Design, and Design Director at the Institute of International Education. She has taught and lectured at Pratt Institute and FIT, and wrote and illustrated the children's book The Best Colors.
